And, why fantasy?

I’ve enjoyed the genre my entire life. Granted, my reading days have waxed and waned over the years, but I always come back to these stories. I have always loved the creative way authors deal with the ongoing struggle of good and evil.

What have I read throughout my life that inspired me to write? Here’s a brief list of some of the content I’ve consumed:

The Hobbit

The Lord of the Rings

The Silmarillion (and some of the Unfinished Tales works)

Thomas Covenant

Shannara Chronicles

The Wheel of Time (at least 6 times)

Mistborn

A Song of Ice and Fire (most of at, at least)

Sword of Truth - currently reading this series

And it seems to always be poignant in the grand scheme of things. The adventures, trials, and lessons the characters learn give me hope…and perhaps they do the same for you.
